82. One To Watch- Tao Okamoto

Tao Okamoto's first agency was Elite to which she signed on in 2006. She made her first runway debut on the Emanuel Ungaro and Martin Grant shows in Paris that same year. The next year, she walked her first New York Fashion Week shows for Marc Jacobs and Cynthia Steffe. Marking her first work for a fashion magazine was her Glamour editorial in 2007.[

Teen Vogue called her a "rising star" in September 2009, and featured her as "Girl of the Moment" in its December/January 2010 issue. Vogue Japan dedicated its November 2009 magazine cover and all of the magazines editorials to her, noting her as a supermodel-in-rising. She has appeared in advertising campaigns for Ralph Lauren, Benetton, HM, Gap and Zac Posen. Clearly one to watch.

Shake It Baby. Polaroid Part two

Just a quick post today as I'm busy preparing a big article for The Hub Magazine.
These polaroids were taken during some fashion parades that I've been involved with. The boy with the skateboard was taken during a shoot for Dazed & Confused Magazine.
If you liked these please feel free to check out my other polaroids by clicking here.

Shake it baby. Polaroid.

In a recent interview by Style Street I revealed a new project I’m currently working on.

A little book of Polaroids. Here is a sample.

A portrait of Amber Valletta and myself.

Style Street: So why blog?

Jean-Paul Rosette: My friends are black collar workers, so when I asked them what they were working on, they would show me their CD, building, short film etc, and I felt like I didn’t really have anything physical to show besides the photo shoot or magazine spread, so the blog is my way of addressing that. Perhaps it’s my reflection on the semi-permanent nature of hairdressing. And a way of sketching out ideas and my thoughts about current trends and the industry.

Street Style: Future plans.

Jean-Paul Rosette: Putting together a little book of Polaroids. I’ve taken thousands of these things over the years. I like the format. It’s imperfect, instant and disposable all at the same time.
